(August 7, 2016, 5:50 p.m.) -- LBPD Public Information Officer Nancy Pratt tells LBREPORT.com that last night's (Aug. 6) fatal shooting of Carina Mancera and her four-year old daughter, Jennabel Anaya in downtown LB's North Pine neighborhood was NOT a drive-by shooting.

Meanwhile, a grassroots shrine was visible on Sunday afternoon at the NE corner of 9th St./Locust Ave. where the double-homicide occurred. We observed a quiet stream of residents, some tearful, some prayerful, bringing flowers and votive candles to the corner.

Among the items at the shrine: a photo that appears to have been taken at Disneyland [cropped by us to show mother and daughter.]

Eric Anaya has created a Go Fund Me page at this link. In text, it states:

Father of 4 year old Jenna and husband to Carina is seeking your help to cover for funeral expenses. Carina and Jenna were murdered Saturday night outside of their home. Our family is heartbroken with this tragic event, and we hope that you can help us give these two beautiful souls a graceful resting place.

"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death' or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away" Revelation 21:4

As previously reported by LBREPORT.com, LBPD says in a release that the mother, daughter and child's father had just arrived home at about 10:20 p.m., and were walking to their nearby residence where they lived together, when the shooting occurred. LBPD says a motive for the shooting is unknown and no suspect information has been released as of late Sunday afternoon.

LBPD says its Detectives believe there were people in the area who may have witnessed the incident and are strongly encouraging them, or anyone else with information, to come forward. Callers can remain anonymous. Contact LBPD Homicide Detectives Scott Lasch and Michael Hubbard at (562) 570-7244. Anonymous tips may be submitted by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), texting TIPLA plus your tip to CRIMES (274637), or visiting www.lacrimestoppers.org.
