Predawn Pursuit (Dec. 23) Brings LASD Deputies Into ELB, Suspect In Custody

(Dec. 23, 2014, 5:35 a.m.) -- While most of Long Beach slept, a predawn LASD pursuit ended in ELB (3700 block Chatwin Ave. (two blocks east of Bellflower Blvd., south of Carson St. just north of Conant St. and south of Heartwell Park.)

In the foggy darkness, Deputies found the suspect and took him (a male adult) into custody (approx. 4:00 a.m.) on suspicion of driving under the influence.

LASD's Lakewood Station Watch Commander (Sgt. Acosta) tells LBREPORT.com that Deputies spotted a vehicle in Hawaiian Gardens (area Pioneer/Carson) that ran a red light; a pursuit followed; the driver bailed out of the car; a quick check indicated the vehicle had been stolen; Deputies set up a containment perimeter...and found and arrested the suspect in the 3700 block of Chatwin Ave.
