(Dec. 17, 2016, follow-up to front page breaking Dec. 16) -- As flashed on LBREPORT.com's front page within minutes (including field photo from reader and LBFD PIO audio details), a fire broke out in the 10:00 p.m. hour on Friday night (Dec. 16) at George's 50's Diner (corner Atlantic Ave./San Antonio Dr. in Bixby Knolls) -- that went to a second alarm.
LBFD firefighters knocked down the blaze within 20 minutes of responding and within 16 minutes of the first unit's arrival.

LBFD Public Information Officer / Firefighter Jake Heflin told LBREPORT.com (within minutes of knockdown) that LBFD responded at 10:22 p.m. to the 4300 block of Atlantic Ave. (at San Antonio Rd.) [Caveat: Fire location not to be confused with Georgie's Place, which is south on Atlantic Ave.]
PIO Heflin says the first unit arrived on scene at 10:26 p.m. and found smoke showing...and based on the extent of the fire, a second alarm was called at about 10:32 p.m. Firefighters declared knock-down at 10:42 p.m.
