(Dec. 28, 2017, 5:25 a.m.) -- A man (adult) perished in a WLB house fire Wednesday night (Dec. 27).

In the predawn hours, initial information is sketchy. LBFD's Twitter feed indicates that firefighters responded at 9:57 p.m. to a house fire in the 3000 block of Fashion Ave. (about two blocks west of L.A. river, north of Spring St.)

"Initial reports from neighbors indicated people were still inside the residence" and "unfortunately, during primary search, an adult male was located," a confirmed fatality, LBFD says.
