(Feb. 27, 2016) -- LBPD pursued a possible drunk driver through parts of Central and East Long Beach at early evening Saturday (Feb. 27), during which the suspect/driver was involved in two accidents before exiting the vehicle, prompting a foot pursuit in which the driver was apprehended near the northern edge of ELB's Artcraft Manor neighborhood.

LBPD says that at about 6:41 p.m., patrol officers attempted to stop a possible drunk driver in the 2100 block of Myrtle Ave. and the driver allegedly refused to stop. A pursuit then ensued in which the driver was involved in two accidents (described as minor in the sense that no physical injuries were reported) and headed into East Long Beach. The driver exited the vehicle and a foot pursuit followed in which the driver was taken into custody in the area of Lakewood Blvd./Willow St.

LBPD's investigation is ongoing.
