(Feb. 1, 2018, 5:15 a.m.) -- As separately reported by LBREPORT.com, a committee calling itself "Friends of Long Beach" has given $1,000 -- out of roughly $180,000 it raised (nearly $150k from hotel interests) that it could spend in various city races of its choosing -- to the Committee to Recall Councilwoman Jeannine Pearce.

Among the Recall committee's two earliest contributors (Aug. 28) was Robert Fox ($1,000.) In 2017, the Recall committee collected $3,265, spent $1,751 and ended up with $1,513 on December 31 [with "Friends of Long Beach" a potential elephant in the room with a $170,000 warchest as of Dec. 31.)

Councilwoman Pearce's supporters have also begun ramping-up. On Jan. 22, 2018 the Long Beach Collective Association (LB) and North Cord Management, LLC (Irvine) gave $2,000 each; Gold Flora, LLC (Newport Beach) gave $1,000; and on Jan, 23, UFCW Local 324's PAC gave $2,500.

Recall petition signature-gathering recently began. Developing.
