(Jan. 1, 2016, 3:50 a.m.) -- Less than an hour into 2016, gunfire flew on Martin Luther King Ave. just north of Anaheim St. (6th Council district.) No person was hit and LBPD is investigating what took place.

Initial information is sketchy. LBPD overnight Watch Commander Lt. Jeff Berkenkamp tells LBREPORT.com that at about 12:55 a.m. Dec. 1, LBPD responded to the 1300 block of MLK Ave. Officers confirmed that a shooting had occurred...which turned out to be a no-hit shooting.
