(January 16, 2017, 8:10 a.m.) -- As reported on Jan. 15 our front page as breaking, LBPD says officers took multiple steps and verbal efforts, and at one point tried an electronic device, to urge a knife-wielding woman in the area of Bellflower Blvd./7th St. to drop her knife, which multiple individuals told police the woman had allegedly used to threaten and try to stab or cut them or others, before the woman allegedly advanced on officers and was shot...and did not survive.
LBREPORT.com was on-scene with initial live video where we also spoke with an individual who described for us (and says she likewise described to police) what the knife-wielding woman allegedly did to her just minutes before the shooting. She can be seen and heard as part of our on-demand video report below. LBREPORT.com issued a release (text in full below) that included a photo of the knife (also below). [Scroll down for further.] |

LBREPORT.com's on-scene video below includes a woman's description of what the knife-wielding woman allegedly did to her shortly before police arrived. The victim refers to her cart (shopping cart) which held her possessions -- and she says she used to fend off the knife wiedling woman who she says slashed her jacket -- in the nearby Jack in the Box location on 7th St. at PCH (just west of Bellflower Blvd.) Below is a photo of the shopping cart in the restaurant parking lot.
