Although the undercover deputy may not have been in a high speed pursuit (simply followed the suspects), residents of the area that when LASD units responded, they did so at high speed.

(July 23, 2014) -- Following up on a story LBREPORT.com reported on our front page basically as it was happening happening this morning (July 23), the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. Lakewood station says two stolen vehicle suspects -- both men (adults) [cities of residence not immediately available] -- are in custody after a Sheriff undercover deputy spotted them in the area of the Lakewood Mall at about 7:45 a.m. and followed them (not high speed pursuit) to the ELB area of Conant/Hackett.
