(July 4, 2015) -- As flashed on LBREPORT.com's front page on July 4th, a man (believed by LBPD investigators to be homeless) was fatally stabbed and found deceased a few steps south of Anaheim St. on Dawson Ave. (just east of Cherry Ave.) At midmorning July 4th, LBREPORT saw LBPD investigators alongside evidence markers stretching from Cherry Ave. on the west to Dawson Ave on the east.

In a release, LBPD says units were dispatched at about 5:27 a.m. to the area of East Anaheim St/Dawson Avenue to assist LBFD personnel with an unresponsive subject who appeared to have sustained a stab injury. LBFD paramedics determined the male adult deceased at the scene. At this time, the victim isn't being identified pending notification of next of kin by the L.A. County Coroner. The preliminary investigation leads investigators to believe the victim is homeless. No suspect information is available, a motive is unknown, and the investigation remains ongoing.
