(July 5, 2015, 2:45 p.m.) -- Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia says he's disapointed by the amount of illegal fireworks this year in the city, says he's going to strategize on how to do better and seeks the public's ideas via via Facebook..

They consume valuable police and fire resources that should be spent elsewhere. We are going to strategize on how we can all do better for next year but we are going to need your help. If you have ideas, send them my way. Thanks.

The Mayor's statement comes just hours after LBREPORT.com published a report -- including VIDEO -- citing multiple responses to our Facebook page indicating that illegal fireworks, including large aerial rockets, were visible/audible all over town.
