(July 15, 2016) -- A man was stabbed at midafternoon Friday (July 15) in the area of E. Anaheim St./Atlantic Ave. (borderf of 1st/6th Council districts) in what LBPD says was a carjacking.

Initial information is sketchy. LBPD PIO Sgt. Bradley Johnson says that at about 2:25 p.m. on July 15, officers were dispatched to the area of Anaheim/Atlantic regarding a stabbing. Arriving officers found a man (adult) suffering from an apparent stab wound; LBFD transported him a hospital; LBPD's further investigation indicated that this was a carjacking.

LBPD's investigation is ongoing; we'll update our story with further as we learn it.
