(July 5, 2016) -- LBREPORT.com provides on-demand audio below of what occurred almost exactly a year ago -- on July 7, 2015 -- when Long Beach resident Leslie Davis (2nd Council district rep'd by Suja Lowenthal) came to the City Council to speak on a non-agendized topic: the continuing detonation of explosive devices (which she declined to call "fireworks") in her neighborhood.

Mayor Garcia spoke briefly in response. Vice Mayor Lowenthal said nothing in response (although Ms. Davis was her constituent.) No other other Councilmembers spoke.

What subsequently occurred in Long Beach neighborhoods in 2016, particularly between July 2 and July 4, 2016 is now a matter of record, as are the records of LB's Mayor and City Councilmembers on this issue which LBREPORT.com will be reporting in detail.

During the July 2-July 4 period, LBREPORT.com invited, monitored and will shortly be detailing impacts reported by residents in neighborhoods across the city from explosive devices and aerial rockets (banned statewide).
