(July 18, 2017, updated 9:01 a.m. from 5:25 a.m.) -- A man was shot to death and two women were hit by gunfire and wounded overnight in the 2800 block of Walnut Ave. in Signal Hill (parking lot of an adult entertainment club.)

In a release, the L.A. County Sheriffs Dept. (handles homicides in Signal Hill) states:

[LASD text] Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing to assist Signal Hill Police Department to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of man and wounding of two women that occurred on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at 1:50 A.M., in the 2800 block of Walnut Avenue, Signal Hill.
Detectives have learned that the male victim was standing in the parking lot of the gentlemen's club when he was approached by a male figure and shot several times. Two females were also struck by gunfire.
The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The two female victims were transported to local area hospitals and treated. They’re listed in stable condition...
