Woman Shot In Drive-By, Area 15th St./Peterson Ave.

(June 28, 2012) -- A woman (age 18) was shot while she was a passenger in a vehicle in the area of 15th St./Peterson Ave. (between Orange and Cherry, and between Anaheim and PCH) last night.

LBPD Public Information Officer Nancy Pratt says that at about 11:35 p.m. (June 27), LBPD responded to a local hospital regarding a gunshot wound victim in the ER and began investigating.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle drove up to the victim's vehicle containing the woman and two other occupants...and someone fired several shots into the victim's vehicle, striking the woman.

The driver of the victim vehicle then drove the wounded woman to the hospital where she was treated for a non-life-threatening injury.

On January 26, a man (age 22) was shot in the 1600 block of Gundry Avenue about a block north and a block west of the latest shooting).
