(June 20, 2015) -- Did you see it? As previewed on LBREPORT.com and reported on our front page, Long Beach (and likely L.A. and OC areas) had a bright, clear view of the International Space Station during a roughly four and a half minute window on Friday night June 19 (eight second time exposure below.)

The spacecraft, traveling at roughly 17,200 mph, rose in the NW sky shortly after 9:18 p.m.,climbed to an elevation of 72 degrees at about 9:22 p.m....and headed into the SE sky where it disappeaed at about 9:24 p.m.

Max Pearl (age 15) captured an eight-second open-shutter image as the Space Station was overhead.

The photo below was captured as the Space Station was at roughly 70 degrees high, near its zenith. (Our roof line is visible in lower right corner.) A minute before this photo, the Space Station was above San Francisco; a minute after this photo, it was over the Gulf of California...all of it visible from the ground here in Long Beach.
