(June 19, 2015, 8:55 a.m.) -- Allen Kenitzer (FAA Regional Public Affairs Mgr).tells LBREPORT.com in initial information that a "Beechcraft C23 Musketeer airplane was attempting to land and impacted the perimeter fence just prior to the approach end of Runway 25 Right." No further details for now; we'll update this story as we continue to learn more. (June 19, 2015, 1:05 a.m.) -- As flashed when breaking and updated on LBREPORT.com's front page, a single engine Beechcraft small plane crashed into a fence along LB Airport's perimeter road near the west side of Lakewood Blvd. roughly 300 yards south of Conant St. [June 18] LBFD Public Information Officer/Firefighter Jake Heflin told LBREPORT.com that the plane was inbound (apparently on approach to runway 25R.) The pilot was transported to a local trauma center with minor injuries. A vehicle on Lakewood Blvd. was struck by debris; its driver was evaluated and didn't require treatment.
