Hear Them: Fourth Council District Candidates Face Audience Questions -- And Each Other -- At Stearns Park Neighborhood Ass'n Forum

(March 23, 2012) -- LBReport.com provides extended on-demand audio below of Thursday night's (Mar. 22) 4th Council district candidate forum, organized by the Stearns Park Neighborhood Ass'n.

Roughly 70 people were present in the Tucker Elementary School auditorium...and by making on-demand audio available, LBReport.com expands the reach of the event to the entire 4th district and LB residents citywide, available on-demand 24/7.

Questions were by direct audience microphone -- not filtered through 3 x 5 cards -- and included a number of pointed questions to the candidates, who were also given opening (7 minutes) and closing (five minutes) statements.

On the ballot are John Watkins (retired LBPD Sergeant) and Daryl Supernaw (President, Atherton Corridor Neighborhood Ass'n/member City's Sustainability Comm'n (latter listing for identification). Seeking a third term under the write-in procedure that is part of LB's voter-enacted Term Limits ordinance is 4th district Councilman Patrick O'Donnell (now completing his second term, first elected 2004).

Choices being made now by 4th Council district residents (via vote by mail ballots) and on polling place election day (April 10) will determine which of the three candidates will have a Council vote for the next four years on approving or disapproving City Hall spending, service levels and cuts, development projects and neighborhood impacts.
