(May 31, 2013, 1:05 a.m.) -- Following-up on a story reported Thursday (May 30) by LBREPORT.com, Cirivello's, a 30+ year ELB neighborhood pizza and sports-oriented eatery at 4115 Viking Way (Bellflower Blvd./Carson St. NW quadrant commercial area) has closed.
On the evening of May 30, the front door at 4115 Viking Way (Bellflower Blvd./Carson St. area) was locked but a sign said they were open through the back door, enabling patrons to enter the bar area and hear a previously scheduled live band. Inside the former main dining area, soon-to-be-former employees and some volunteers piled up chairs, dishes and other items...and the walls were cleared of sports memorabilia. Patrons in the bar area heard live music..... ...and those wishing to enjoy a beer were told it was "cash only" on the last night. On May 30, a representative of the property management firm told LBREPORT.com that the property owner had chosen to lease the space to a similar type venue with a family orientation and an expanded menu. Cirivello's owners indicated to LBREPORT.com that they are not pleased to be leaving the location. For over three decades, Cirivello's was a reliable place to go for pizza and other eats after Little League/Pony League/soccer games and the like. It evolved from a pizza place into a solid sports oriented venue with multiple big screen TV's, arcade games for kids, beer for grown-ups plus live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights. The photos below were shot at early evening on May 29. 24 hours later, it was part of the past.
