The matter was part of the meeting's "consent calendar" (multiple items listed for voted approval without discussion unless a boardmembers or the public seek individual discussion and an individual recorded vote.) Trustee Zia pulled the consent calendar spending item for discussion, sought and received information from management on two itemized items over $25,000 and received it. That left unitemized spending items under $25,000 (totaling $1+ mil) for approval, a practice to which Trustee Zia has declined to give voted approval since her arrival, and declined again on Oct. 28...in publicly stinging terms.
