(November 1, 2016) -- A man (adult) was shot/wounded on Sunday night in Central LB's 6th Council district following a dispute at a gas station. The suspect fled, but observant LBPD officers spotted the suspect's vehicle in the Wrigley area, performed a traffic stop, took the suspect into custody and recovered a gun at the scene.

LBPD Public Information Officer Nancy Pratt says that on Oct. 30 at about 9:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to a shooting at a gas station in the area of Anaheim St./MLK Ave. Arriving officers learned that two men (adults) had been involved in a verbal dispute which escalated into one of them shooting at the other. The victim was hit and transported to a hospital with what appeared to be a non-life-threatening wound. The suspect fled...but LBPD spotted a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle's description in the area of Magnolia Ave./20th St., conducted a traffic stop, arrested a 29 year old San Pedro man without incident and booked him on suspicion of attempted murder.
