(Oct. 7, 2016, 8:10 p.m.) -- LBPD says its Detectives today (Oct. 7) located a suspect in Wilmington in the murder of a man found fatally shot Sept. 5 in the Port of Long Beach, and when Detectives moved in to arrest the murder suspect (believed to be armed and dangerous), he allegedly tried to flee in a vehicle, crashed into a Detective's car...and an officer-involved shooting occurred.
Detectives say they recovered a loaded gun (photo right) plus an additional loaded magazine from the suspect L.A. City Fire transported the suspect to a hospital; at early evening (Oct. 7), he was listed in critical condition. . [Scroll down for further.] |
[LBPD release text] On October 7, 2016, at approximately 11:20 a.m., Long Beach Police Detectives were in the 1700 block of Marine Ave in Wilmington conducting follow up investigation to a Murder. The purpose of the investigation was to arrest an armed and dangerous murder suspect.
