(October 24, 2017) -- LBREPORT.com readers knew it was coming. At 9:20 a.m.,the National Weather Service UPPED its predicted highs today (Oct. 24) to range from 106 in 90808 to 99 in 90802, which we reported within minutes.
At 11:05 a.m., it hit 100 degrees at LB Airport (90808), reached 106 at 1:10 and again at 1:25 p.m...and has remained there until 4:15 p.m., dropping to 104 at 4:20 p.m. Fortunately, it was with a bone-dry 8% humidity, producing a negative heat index, meaning the air temp of 106 "felt like" 99 degrees. The National Weather Service currently predicts somewhat cooler temps on Wednesday, about 7 degrees cooler, so it will still be hot, just less so. [Scroll down for further.] |
