(Sept. 13, 2010) -- LBReport.com has learned that LB Mayor Bob Foster filed paperwork on Sept 8, 2010 with the CA Secretary of State's office to organize a political committee that can raise money in pursuit of a run for CA state Treasurer in 2014.

The form filed is a "Form 410," a "Statement of Organization" form for a group that receives or expects to receive more than $1,000. Individuals are required to file Form 410 within 10 days of receiving $1,000 in contributions, although they can file it in advance of receiving any contributions. The contributors don't have to be itemized and disclosed until Jan. 31, 2011.

Mayor Foster's current term of office expires in July 2014. Elected in 2006 after raising a then-record amount of campaign contributions (many from outside Long Beach), the former SCE Sacramento lobbyist and later SCE President was re-elected Mayor in 2010 after raising another major campaign warchest in 2009...against which only a socialist college student challenged him.
