The Shuttle Endeavour Photo You Probably Haven't Seen

VIDEO TELLS AMECO SOLAR'S STORY. AND CLICK HERE TO HEAR AMECO PRESIDENT PATRICK REDGATE EXPLAIN WHY SOLAR MAKES SUCH GOOD SENSE.

(Sept. 23, 2012) -- Thanks to LBReport.com former Community Correspondent Daryl Supernaw, our readers can see a photo of the Space Shuttle Endeavour that many people might otherwise have missed.

Mr. Supernaw -- who regularly informed LBReport.com readers when the Space Shuttle and International Space Station were visible obitting over Long Beach -- provides links below to Endeavour photographed while docked to the International Space Station. Mr. Supernaw notes that "It happened on the second to the last shuttle mission. NASA arranged for the Russian Soyuz to depart after Endeavour had docked to provide the photo op."

From news.discovery.com: "June 7, 2011 -- It's been imaged in artists' renderings, but never before in actual photos from another spacecraft: the sight of a space shuttle berthed at the International Space Station. This view of shuttle Endeavour, taken by Italian astronaut Paulo Nespoli from aboard a Russian Soyuz capsule on May 23, is the culmination of 36 space shuttle missions to build the outpost over the past 12 years. NASA wanted the shot before it retires the shuttle fleet after one final mission in July."

Yes, that's the same Endeavour many of us saw atop a 747 over Long Beach on Friday (Sept. 21)

As a side note, in 1995, the shuttle Atlantis was photographed while docked to the Russian Mir Space Station...but the Endeavour-ISS photo remains the only photo of its docking with the Int'l Stace Station.

And thank you for this, Mr. Supernaw.
