Man Shot To Death, 500 block Rhea (North of PCH b/w LB Blvd/Atlantic)

(Sept. 8, 2018, 3:50 p.m.) -- In the second of two 6th Council district (Central LB) shootings within three hours overnight, a man was fatally shot this morning in the neigbborhood just north of PCH between LB Blvd. and Atlantic Ave. (north of Poly High.)

In a release, LBPD states that Sept. 8 at about 2 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Rhea St., found the victim on the sidewalk in front of a residence, where he was struck by gunfire...and LBFD pronounced him deceased at the scene.

The victim's name is withheld by the Corner pending notification of next of kin. LBPD says a motive for the shooting, and whether the shooting is gang related, is currently unknown and under investigation.

As separately reported by LBREPORT.com, a man was shot/wounded at about 11 p.m. Sept. 7 in the 1400 block of Rose Ave. (6th dist., north of PCH, west of Cherry Ave.)
