About Gary DeLong
Gary DeLong, a 3rd generation Southern Californian, has lived in the Long Beach area for over 20 years. He and his wife have two children - one each from previous marriages - and they currently reside in East Long Beach. Mr. DeLong earned an MBA from USC and is President & CEO of a successful telecommunications consulting and software development firm based in Long Beach, The RTP Group, Inc.
Mr. DeLong is a City of Long Beach Economic Development Commissioner, a member of the Aquarium of the Pacific, ChildNet Youth & Family Services, Long Beach City College Foundation and Long Beach Public Library Foundation Boards of Directors, and a member of the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Council.
Mr. DeLong has also been certified by the State of California to serve as a foster parent.
In 2003, Mr. DeLong was a candidate for the Long Beach School Board seat covering much of southeast Long Beach. During the campaign, Mr. DeLong (a parent) met countless Long Beach residents who, like himself, wanted to better the city and improve the quality of life.
