  • (June 4, 9:45 a.m.) -- Below is the first of several detailed breakdowns of last night's LB city election results (seen LIVE with STREAMING VIDEO on LBREPORT.com) in which Vice Mayor Robert Garcia beat businessman Damon Dunn, his Council district deputy Lena Gonzalez outpolled Misi Tagaloa in the 1st district, Stacy Mungo prevailed over Carl Kemp in ELB's 5th Council district, and Charles Parkin, LB's current Council-appointed City Attorney, fended off a challenge by Councilman James Johnson.

The initial unofficial results (with some provisional + final vote by mail ballots remaining to be counted) show Garcia just edged out Dunn in vote by mail ballots but beat him decisively in election day polling place ballots.

LBREPORT.com had dual LIVE VIDEO streams on election night: one from Garcia's election night event aboard the Queen Mary (via Joe Mello) alongside a second from Stacy Mungo's election night party at the Airport Marriott (via Dan Halverson.)

LBREPORT.com now provides VIDEO on demand (as seen live) of Mayor-elect Garcia's victory speech below. With Mayor Bob Foster and Congressman Alan Lowenthal on stage, he's introduced by Los Angeles Councilman (Port-area) Joe Buscaino and L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti.
