Woman (Adult) Is Shot To Death In Central LB Alley (Area 21st St. West of Orange Ave.)

It's LB's second murder in two days (four total in June to date), seocnd this month in 6th Council district

(June 24, 2015, 3:30 p.m.) -- Following-up on a story flashed on LBREPORT.com's front page (www.LBREPORT.com) this morning, LBPD has now issued a release indicating that the victim in this morning's (June 24) fatal shooting in an east-west alley in the 1100 block of E. 21st St. (6th Council district) is Alicia Faith Todd, 21, of Signal Hill.

[LBPD release text] On June 24, 2015, at approximately 1:13 a.m., Long Beach Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of E. 21st Street regarding a subject down in the alley.

When officers arrived, they found the victim in the east/west alley between Orange Avenue and Lemon Avenue, north of 21st Street, who had been struck by gunfire in the upper torso. Long Beach Fire Department paramedics responded and determined the victim deceased at the scene.

The preliminary investigation determined the calling party had heard gunshots around midnight, but did not call police until they found the female in the alley.

The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Alicia Faith Todd of Signal Hill.

No suspect information is available at this time, and a motive for the shooting is unknown.

It's LB's second murder in two days. Yesterday's homicide was at 8th/Cedar (roughly eight blocks due north of LB City Hall; LBREPORT.com coverage at this link.)

The latest murder was the fourth to date in June and the second this month in the 6th Council district. On June 6, a man was fatally shot in the area of 17th/Alamitos. LB has had two homicides this month; they were in the 1st and 8th Council districts.
