News Iron Triangle To Belmont Shore: LBPD Spots, Pursues, Chases On Foot & Apprehends Parolee At Large, Area Broadway @ Belmont
(April 12, 2007) -- A pursuit from the Iron Triangle (PCH/7th) -- that began when LBPD spotted a "no bail" suspect parolee at large in the area of 2nd St./PCH -- led police into the Belmont Shore area, culminating with a foot pursuit in the area of Broadway at Belmont Ave.

LBPD Public Information Officer Nancy Pratt said the events began at about 4:30 p.m. April 11 when detectives in a plain [unmarked] car spotted a "no bail" parolee at large in the area of 2nd St. and PCH. They alerted "black and white" units to make a traffic stop...and those units confronted him at a fast food restaurant at 7th/Bellflower.
PIO Pratt says when officers tried to detain the suspect, he fled...and a pursuit began.
The pursuit led to Belmont Shore in the area of Mira Mar and Broadway, where the suspect allegedly jumped out of the vehicle and ran.
Officers began a foot pursuit...and apprehended the suspect, who was taken into custody.
PIO Pratt said the 37 year old "no bail" parolee suspect, a LB resident, was booked on charges including possession for sale [of narcotics], failure to register as a sex registrant and felony evading.
