(August 19, 2003) -- Bixby Knolls, Cal Hts. and Los Cerritos residents (like ELB) can hear an extra week of music at Los Cerritos Park beyond the LB Muni Band now-concluded concert schedule: on August 20 from [note early start time] 6-8 p.m., the Elm Street Band will perform at Los Cerritos Park.

The Elm Street Band's website (www.elmstreetband.com) says the group has been called "The World’s Greatest Garage/Surf Band" and has performed for southland audiences since 1988. The band's web site proudly proclaims it features Classic Rock N' Roll.

At the conclusion of the Aug. 19 City Council meeting, 8th district Councilman Rob Webb indicated that the Elm Street Band's Los Cerritos Aug. 20 concert is being sponsored by the Los Cerritos Improvement Association and Out and About Long Beach.

As previously reported by LBReport.com, the Elm Street Band will also perform at El Dorado Park on August 22 in the soccer field on Studebaker Rd. between Willow & Spring Streets, that extra concert funded by district discretionary funds appropriated last year by 5th district Councilwoman Jackie Kell.
