(Aug. 1, 2005) -- A murder took place at midday today (Aug. 1) in the area of 10th St. and Walnut Ave.
Details are sketchy as we post. LBPD Public Information Officer Israel Ramirez says that about 11:36 a.m. today (Aug. 1), officers responded to the area and found a man suffering from gunshot wounds to the torso. The victim, described only as a male adult resident of LB (pending notification of next of kin) was transported to a hospital where he did not survive his wounds.
LBPD says its preliminary investigation indicates the victim was approached by a suspect who fired his weapon at the victim.
Officers converged on the area, followed up on tips, but as we post the suspect is at large.
This crime occurred at midday...and police are asking witnesses or others who may have heard or seen what took place to help LBPD Homicide Detectives. Police have not issued a suspect description as we post.
"Callers can remain anonymous," PIO Ramirez says: (562) 570-7244.
