(December 26, 2001) -- A 17 year old young man visiting relatives in LB was shot to death on Christmas Day in the area of 2041 E. Anaheim St. (near Cherry Ave.) in the 4th Council district.

LBPD responded to a shooting call at approximately 6:30 p.m. and found the victim lying near a driveway, suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck. LBFD paramedics transported him to St. Mary Medical Center where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The suspect reportedly fled on foot and is described only as a male Hispanic in his 20's. He is currently outstanding and is being sought by police.
