(December 19, 2002) -- LBPD's Motor Patrol Ass'n and LB Search and Rescue brought smiles and Christmas joy to children throughout LB today, the happy results of an ambitious 22d annual Toy Drive conducted by the two public safety groups.
LB Motor Officers and LB Search and Rescue members began early, assembling at ELB's Veterans Stadium today at 7:30 a.m., setting out on a mission to deliver over 1,300 presents to children at 25 LB day care centers.
Fred Wheeler, VP of the LB Police Motor Patrol Association, emailed LBReport.com this digital photo, showing Motor Officer Chris Morgan assisting Santa in handing out toys. The picture speaks a thousand words.
Here's another. Over thirty Motor Officers assisted LB Search and Rescue in today's Toy Drive. Thanks to their efforts, approximately 1,300 toys are now in the hands of happier children in LB.
Bless you all...and Merry Christmas.
