(December 14, 2005, breaking) -- LBReport.com has learned and confirmed that American Airlines will be ending flights at Long Beach Airport to/from Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport effective March 2.
All of AA's current flights (using MD-80 aircraft) at LB Airport go to/from DFW. AA spokesman Tim Wagner indicates AA's plans for its five LB Airport flight slots -- which it could use to fly elsewhere and must ultimately either use or relinquish -- are currently pending.
LB Airport says it's received no official notification from AA as of this morning regarding the carrier's intentions.
LBReport.com began pursuing the story when news broke of a written release from DFW Airport's Chief Operating Officer who indicated AA's shift of some flights from DFW to Dallas' Love Field would eliminate DFW service to Long Beach as well as Providence, RI, Green Bay, WI, Toledo, OH and Rochester, MI as well as Lima, Peru.
