(Dec. 31, 2006) -- The L.A. County Coroner's office says a 34 year old woman, whose body was found in a NLB alley on December 26, was a homicide victim who died of multiple gunshot wounds.
And LBPD says a deceased man found on a central LB street, who appeared to have sustained a gunshot wound, has been turned over to the Coroner to determine his official cause of death.
On December 30 at about 5:30 a.m. LBPD officers found a Hispanic man lying on the sidewalk in the 1400 block of Gundry Ave, with at least one gunshot wound; LBPD determined he was deceased; the Coroner identifies him as Cristian Antonio Smith, a transient, and as of Dec. 31 had not yet examined him.
On December 26, LBPD responded after a worker found the body of an African-American in an alley behind the 6700 block of Delta Ave. (NW corner of LB). The Coroner's office calls her death a homicide and identifies the victim as Sherrelle Muhammad, 34...and says she succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds. Further details are unavailable as we post.
