El Dorado Nature Ctr. Exhibits Watercolor Paintings -- Most With Images Taken From Nature Center Itself -- By Prominent Local Artist Willellyn McFarland Thru March 5
(February 7, 2003) -- The El Dorado Nature Center is exhibiting watercolor paintings -- the majority with images taken directly from the El Dorado Nature Center itself -- by well-known local artist Willellyn McFarland.
One example of Ms. McFarland's work is shown to the right. "Pt. Fermin" is displayed on LBReport.com with the artist's permission. It's not part of the Nature Center exhibit...but other works by Ms. McFarland inspired by the beautiful Nature Center are.
In a written release, the El Dorado Nature Center says:
Ms. McFarland’s paintings are in many private and corporate collections throughout the United States and Europe. She has exhibited her work for many years, winning numerous awards and honors. Most of this artist's amazing paintings feature themes from nature, and the majority of the paintings exhibited at this show are images taken directly from the beautiful El Dorado Nature Center. McFarland's work is one of the many extraordinary ways to explore the wonders of nature. With her exceptional use of color and light, she captures nature’s beauty in an inspiring way.
The works will be on display through March 5 in the El Dorado Nature Center museum. The museum is open to the public Tuesdays through Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.,and on weekends from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
