(February 12, 2003, initial posting, transcript excerpts to follow) -- At the Feb. 11 City Council meeting, 8th district Councilman Rob Webb was unable to get his Council colleagues to support his request that city management provide a report within 30 days on LB Airport "land use strategy."

Seemingly unable to collapse objections raised by Vice Mayor Frank Colonna, 4th district Councilman Dennis Carroll and 5th district Councilwoman Jackie Kell, Webb was reduced to defending his request and when this failed, settled for an innocuous status report in 30 days on current Airport land use and the process for changes. It passed 8-0, Baker absent.
