    Councilwoman Lowenthal's TV Show Statement re Boston Area LNG Facility Compared To MA Congressman's Web Site


    (February 1, 2004) -- As separately reported on LBReport.com, during a segment of the City Hall-produced TV program "Heart of the City," 1st district Councilwoman Bonnie Lowenthal refers to a Boston area LNG facility that has been operating for roughly twenty years and says, "And you never hear about it, and that's a good thing."

    With a few mouse clicks, we visited the web site of Boston area Congressman Ed Markey (D., MA) and found the following: Cong. Markey web page.

    A Mitsubishi subsidiary, Sound Energy Solutions (SES), proposes to build an LNG facility in the Port of LB, and devotes part of the Frequently Asked Questions section of its web site to comparing its proposal with the Boston area facility. The company FAQ also discusses homeland security issues. SES web site FAQ (scroll to Q & A re facilities that most resemble the LB proposed facility, and further for other issues.).
