(February 12, 2006) -- LBPD has arrested another group of alleged graffiti vandals in the same general NLB industrial vicinity where LB officers arrested two groups of alleged vandals on February 4th.
Public Information Officer Jason Wong says that on Friday, February 10 at roughly 11:15 p.m., LBPD officers were conducting another surveillance near the area of Del Amo Blvd. and the 710 freeway (runs along 710 and in-between 91 fwy and Del Amo.
Officers observed a vehicle drop off a couple of subjects, caught the subjects allegedly vandalizing walls, apprehended then, stopped the vehicle, discovered spray paint and other tagging materials.
All the subject were arrested...and PIO Wong says they're all from Los Angeles.
As previously reported by LBReport.com, on February 4th LBPD arrested two groups of alleged graffiti vandals in the same general NLB industrial vicinity. North Division LBPD cops set a trap by using covering-over graffiti at the back of a commercial building west of 710 freeway, south of Del Amo Blvd., then deployed in the area to wait for vandals to re-mark the area.
At about 1:35 a.m., officers observed a car stop, spotted the suspects, engaged in a foot pursuit and apprehended four subjects in their early 20s allegedly in possession of spray cans and other instruments commonly used for graffiti purposes. Three were from Downey, one from Gardena.
About nine and a half hours later at about 11:00 p.m. on Feb. 4 in the same general area, an LBPD officer spotted three subjects allegedly in the process of marking the area with graffiti. When the suspects ran, officers converged on the area in a combined operation with LBPD's helicopter unit and apprehended all three of them; LBPD allegedly found backpacks containing spray cans and other instruments commonly associated with graffiti. The suspects were ages 18 (L.A.), 19 and 20 (both LB).
