(Jan. 25, 2007) -- A noontime power outage affected residences, business and some street lights in parts of ELB and Lakewood Village today (Jan. 25) after a piece of equipment failed in a Lakewood substation, causing other circuits to trip-off (a system protection measure).
SCE spokesman Steve Conroy told LBReport.com that about 7,000 customers were affected in an irregularly shaped area (SCE's circuits are not perfectly rectangular). General areas affected included Lakewood Blvd./Carson St., Bellflower Blvd./Spring St., Palo Verde Ave./Wardlow Rd. and vicinity
SCE spokesman Conroy says power was restored in some areas within ten minutes; others came back up in about half an hour; power was reported entirely restored by 12:33 p.m.
