(January 14, 2007) -- A terrifying crash in the 2900 block of Studebaker Rd. at about 10:30 p.m. on Saturday night Jan. 13 appears to have miraculously spared the life of a teenage driver.
Details are still sketchy over the MLK holiday weekend. LBFD PIO Chris Milburn said it appears that the car was travelling soutbound on Studebaker Rd. south of Spring St., crossed the center divider, went across Studebaker's northbound lanes and ended up almost directly in front of the El Dorado branch library. LBPD PIO Juan Gomez said details weren't immediately available.

LBFD Public Information Officer Chris Milburn says LB Firefighters performed an extrication requiring about an hour...and (incredibly) the driver didn't appear to have serious injuries when examined on scene. However, because of the mechanism of injury (how the crash occurred), he was transported to a hospital.
