(July 12, 2002) -- A 45 year old man encountered what police called a volley of gunshot rounds but escaped with a non-life threatening at roughly 1:20 a.m. today in the area of Anaheim St/Peterson Ave. (b/w Orange & Cherry Aves.) in the 6th Council district.

LBPD says the victim, a LB resident, was walking in an alley when a suspect approached on foot, asked the victim where he lived, produced a handgun and fired numerous shots at the victim.

The suspect is a 25 year old male, roughly 5'5", 180 pounds.
