The signs, opening with WARNING in red letters, advise that "Bridge diving can cause great harm." They further state, "This activity is known to cause hypothermia, broken necks, backs, paralysis and death."

The signs also cite LB Muni Code section 16.04.020 which provides up to six months in County jail and/or a $500 fine for violators.

City Hall says it is posting the signs to discourage jumping from area bridges. On April 12, 2002, 21 year old Ryan Quintrell died after diving from the Davies Bridge.
