Nancy Noe captured these digital images at the 4th of July Los Cerritos Parade & Festivities. Her captions and photos follow [we pixeled faces of kidlets].

"A 1958 fire engine led the parade, followed by numerous vintage cars and decorated golf carts."

"Estimated crowd around 1,000 decorated folks. "There were free hot dogs and watermelon from the LB Police Officers Association and the Los Cerritos Improvement Association."

In the late afternoon, pyrotechnic experts put the finishing touches on the fireworks spectacular slated for ELB's Veterans Stadium.

This set of canons for aerial displays was in the parking lot.

These canons for the field display are connected with a long detonating cord to the control panel.

A second bundle of denonating wires goes to the second set of canons in the parking lot.

The aerial bombs are launched skyward when the pyrotechnician connects the proper wires.

Shortly after 9:00 p.m, the rockets' red glare and bombs bursting in air were seen and heard in ELB (visible from LBReport.com's world headquarters).
