(July 13, 2005) -- In a miraculous set of circumstances on the 710 freeway -- captured digitally by LBReport.com newstipster Dan Wayne -- a truck and a motorcycle collided...and the motorcycle and its rider were dragged underneath the truck as sparks flew and set the truck on fire -- and miraculously, the motorcycle rider was apparently not injured!

LBReport.com reader and grassroots digital photo journalist Dan Wayne captured the events shortly before noon today (July 13) on the 710 freeway just north of Del Amo. [We used digital software to crop the photos and tighten in on the image and made other minor adjustments.] Mr. Wayne mentioned that it looked to him as if the truck might have been on top of a motorcycle...and suggested that we check it out. We did...and Mr. Wayne was right!

LBFD Public Information Officer Paul Rodriguez confirms to LBReport.com that LB firefighters responded to the fire...and found that the truck had dragged the motocycle and its rider, causing sparks to fly and starting the blaze.

LB firefighters extinguished the flames. Despite the harrowing, incendiary circumstances, the motorcycle rider did not appear to be injured, PIO Rodriguez said.
