(June 28, 2007) -- Long prior to his May 1 election as LB's newest 6th district City Councilman, Dee Andrews was known in Central LB as someone who didn't hesitate to get involved if he saw something that didn't seem right.
On June 28, that happened while now-Councilman Andrews was having lunch with friends in the area of PCH/Pine...and he and others saw a man expose himself.
"My friends and I couldn't believe it, and I knew there were kids around so I went up to the man and told him that wasn't right," Councilman Andrews told us after a third party tipped us to the incident.
"The man walked off, so I followed him, called the police and identified him to officers," Councilman Andrews said...somewhat surprised that we'd consider what took place newsworthy.
So you ran after him, we asked? "Well, I just followed him until the police arrived," the Councilman said minimizing his pursuit.
You decided to get involved, we noted. "I just saw something that didn't seem right," Councilman Andews said.
LBPD Public Information Officer Jackie Bezart said the alleged flasher, age 50, was taken into custody on a charge of indecent exposure.
