(June 21, 2007) -- The suspect in a fatal NLB hit and run accident has turned himself in...and did so within hours of the story appearing on LBReport.com and in other L.A.-market electronic media outlets.
LBPD Public Information Officer Nancy Pratt says Anthony Wilcher, 43, of Los Angeles, walked into LBPD's North Division station on June 18 at about 11:00 p.m.
A little over 24 hours earlier, shortly after 9:00 p.m. on June 17, a gray Chevrolet SUV struck and killed a pedestrian (a man in his 30s) in the 200 block of east Del Amo Blvd...although the circumstances of the accident remain under investigation.
Suspect Wilcher was booked on felony hit and run.
LBPD distributed a description of the vehicle (including license plate number) to LBReport.com and L.A. market electronic media outlets...which ran them by dawn and throughout the day on June 18.
