(March 20, 2006, updated Mar. 21) -- LBPD is seeking the public's help in locating a male suspect who allegedly tried to kidnap young women in the NLB area in two recent incidents...including one just after midnight today (Mon. March 20). On March 21, LBPD released the composite sketch to the right. LBPD alleges the following took place:

• Sunday, March 19, 2006, approx. 12:50 a.m., area of Orange Avenue/South Street, a 17-year-old female walking in the area and was approached by a man in a car. He offered her a ride, which she refused. The suspect then threatened to shoot the victim if she didn’t comply. The suspect grabbed the victim’s jacket and the victim was able to break free of the jacket and run.

• Monday March 20, 2006, approx. 12:30 a.m., area Long Beach Blvd./91 Freeway, a 20 year-old-female was walking on Long Beach Blvd. when a suspect approached her. The suspect got out of his car, approached the victim and again threatened to shoot the victim if she didn’t comply. This victim was able to run from the suspect without being harmed.

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic in his 20s, 5'5" to 5'8", 160-180 lbs.. The suspect vehicle has been described as a faded blue four-door sedan. Detectives are still looking into whether the same suspect committed both crimes, however there are similarities in both cases.
