There Was Another Rose Park Area Shooting On May 8: Area 10th/Molino, Just After Midnight

(May 11, 2004) -- Roughly twenty-two hours before shots rang out in the area of 11th St. and Molino Ave., LBReport.com has learned (tipped by a reader) that a shooting occurred shortly after midnight on May 8 in the area of 10th and Molino Ave.

LBPD Public Information officer Greg Schirmer confirms that at approximately 12:14 a.m., officers responded to a shots fired call in the 1000 block of Molino Ave. and found the victim, a 26 year old LB resident on a bicycle, shot multiple times in the mid-torso.

Police believe the suspect walked up and fired several rounds, then got into a vehicle which drove off.

The victim is expected to survive.

Suspect information is sketchy as we post: a male, roughly 18 years old.

As previously reported by LBReport.com, shortly before 10:00 p.m. on May 8, shots were fired from a car at a group of 10-15 people near the corner of 11th St. and Molino Ave...and no one was hit.

As also previously reported by LBReport.com, on April 29, a shooting occurred in the area of 7th St. near Orizaba Ave, followed by a shooting on April 30 in the area of 7th St. and St. Louis Ave.

For now, LBPD hasn't said to what extent, if at all, it considers some or all of these shootings possibly related. Stay with LBReport.com for developments. Further to follow as newsworthy.
